Hey, I'm Adrien

Software engineer based near Paris, France. I love building things, learning, and solving problems - software engineering is the perfect playground for that. Over time I've become just as obsessed with outcomes as with the craft itself: what matters most, how fast you can learn, and how to get there with less.

I've spent most of my career working remotely from France for US companies. Currently Founding Engineer at Sluicebox.ai, making it faster and more accurate to assess the environmental impact of electronic products. It's a genuinely hard problem space, which makes it a great place to push what AI can actually do in practice.

Open source

Open source has always been a big part of how I learn and work. I started deep in the PHP/Symfony ecosystem - built libraries, contributed upstream, created the IntelliJ Symfony Plugin (8M+ downloads, now maintained by Haehnchen). These days I'm in different ecosystems, but the instinct is the same: learn from others, and share whenever I can.

How I work

A lot of what matters to me in engineering comes back to simplicity and feedback. Most complexity isn't inevitable - it's a design choice that wasn't questioned. And the speed of a team really comes down to the speed of its feedback loops. That's a big part of why AI is so interesting to me right now - not just because it speeds things up, but because it keeps changing how I think, learn, and build.
